Forgery made by V.E.U. in Genoa. Second image from the special
pages of the Fournier Album. Also the "SANDAKAN 23 JUN
1886" forged Fournier cancel as found in The Fournier Album
In the Fournier Album (special pages in Geneva, thanks to Gerhard Lang), some forgeries of the 5 Sh are shown with cancels "SANDA.. 23 JUN 1886", probably the "SANDAKAN" cancel also used for North Borneo forgeries. It looks like one of those "Faux fabriques en Italie par la maison V.E.U.". There is also an imperforate forgery shown with a red rectangle all around it as in similar forgeries of this kind:
1/2 p green (lying format) 1 p red 2 p blue 2 1/2 p red 5 p brown
These stamps have watermark 'Q Crown'. The 1/2 p also exists with no watermark, but with blue lines on the backside.

In 1902 a small number of 6 p green stamps in the same design were (accidently?) given to the public. Example of such a used stamp:

1/2 p green (lying format) 1 p red 2 p blue 2 1/2 p red 2 1/2 p lilac on blue 3 p brown 4 p yellow 4 p black 5 p brown 6 p green 1 Sh lilac 2 Sh green
These stamps were first issued with watermark 'Q Crown'. In 1907 they were issued on paper with watermark 'A Crown'. I've seen a newspaper wrapper in the same design (value 1 p red).
